Crash & loss

August 30th, 2010

Seems like my main hard-drive officially died today (I have one for OS and one for stuff). It started acting up yesterday, and now the system doesn’t detect it at all… It kind of sucks. A lot. 200GB of stuff, mainly music, lost. Fortunately I was able to copy over all of my personal photos and videos, so at least that isn’t lost. It still sucks a lot though. Especially since I have little money, and absolutely no money to use towards a new hard-drive… Yay. August of 2010 officially SUCKS. Woohooo.

School

August 30th, 2010

Do not want today’s afternoon classes. The teacher is boring and uninspiring, trying to be “cool” and “hip”, I get it but he totally fails. Literature history and culture and idea history are dusty boring subjects and I guess some kids need to have somebody make them more fun, but geez, he just ruins them completely… I’d like them better dusty and boring. Oh well. :3

…?!

August 25th, 2010

Last night I dreamt I was dating one of the Jonas Brothers. Don’t ask me which one because I have no idea what they’re called. I am so freaked out right now. :|

…oh well, school time.

Today’s quotes from classmates

August 19th, 2010

“Who is Ghandi?”
“What’s a Geneva convention? I’ve never heard that word before”
etc. etc.

Help.

Ache

August 17th, 2010

Past few days my stomach’s been hurting a lot, it sucks. And I don’t know why it’s hurting. And I hate the first days of school where the days are filled with stupid, pointless and awkward “get to know each other” exercises… Blubb. And I wish the rain would stop already, I looked like I’d been out swimming coming home today, even though I was wearing a rain poncho. Blergh.

School & Schedules

August 16th, 2010

TL;DR - Started school, classes scheduled sucky but otherwise it’s OK, kind of. Should stop whining and be awesome instead. True story.

Today was my first day of school, and it was only about two hours long, so the only thing they had us do was to listen to information and then they handed out schedules and information folders. Pretty nice day. Also pretty nice that we have the option to change around our schedule however we’d like to. I’m taking a “university preparing” class with “culture studies” as a kind of major, and so there are a few subjects related to my major that I have to take and I can’t change around, but there are a lot of empty gaps that can be filled or other classes that can be changed. Great, right?

Apart from the fact that I’ve already read all subjects I really need, and the only ones I haven’t read that would be interesting for me would be Math B and C, maybe French A. And this semester Math B is on the same time as Culture history, which is a mandatory subject for me. So I can’t change it for something else. And French A cuts in to some kind of writing course that is also mandatory for me. And all my empty gaps and classes I can change around are on time slots where the only subjects available are subjects I’ve already taken, and, well, I don’t really feel like re-taking them. Again. I’ll be retaking History A just to help fill out my schedule, but apart from that I’d rather not have any more re-takes.

My mentor said I HAVE to fill my schedule (at least 30 hours, currently I have 24), even though he first said that you only had to fill it if you were getting money from CSN, which I’m not… FSK’s only rule for me for me to get my financial support is that my studies get me closer to a high school diploma. They don’t care if it’s full time or half time or whatever. Gah. I hope I can sort this out without having to fill my schedule with pointless classes. Yay, more people I need to talk to… ._.

Nyaaah.

Teru teru bozu, mameshiba and school

August 15th, 2010

Yesterday I made use of my scarp fabric I’ve been saving not knowing what to use it for. The result: Teru teru bozu, cute Japanese Buddhist charms, supposedly they ward of rain and bad weather. Seems like they worked, because it’s been clear all day! And they look really cute hanging out there on the balcony.

And then a close-up on the little one hiding in the flowers, because he just looks so… derp. :D

And if you wonder what happened with the mameshiba, I made another one and turned them in to earrings. For now anyway. :3

Tomorrow I start school again, and I am nervous. Seriously nervous. Nervous, nervous, nervous. So far, August hasn’t been all that great… Bad things and bad news keep stacking up, and well, it makes me really anxious about tomorrow. But, who knows, maybe it’ll be awesome. Maybe it’ll be the turning point. I hope it will be, so I’m going to go to school thinking it will. Yeah. Sounds like a plan. :3

Now me and Stephen is going to go for a walk, rawr. I’m do glad I have Stephen, don’t know what I’d do without him. <3

Mameshibroidery

August 12th, 2010

My last post was supposed to be of stuff I want but can’t afford at the moment… Er. I failed a little and went out and bought yarn and the special kind of fabric or w/e you use when you do cross stitch embroidery. It didn’t cost too much after all… ._.;;

The results… Edamameshiba! On top of my DS Lite in the photo so you can get an idea of the size. :3

Embroidery is so much fun. I just need to figure out more stuff to embroider. I haven’t decided what to do with this edamameshiba, maybe I’ll put him on my school bag. :3 Rawr.

Do wants

August 11th, 2010

Embroidery equipment, textile colors and brushes, beads and peg boards, book about sewing pattern construction.

Venting a little

August 8th, 2010

I’m getting a little tired of people asking whether me and Stephen have thought of really obvious things regarding the wedding and us moving to the US. I mean, I know a lot of them just want to help out and stuff but… It just irritates me a little that some of them actually seem to believe that we haven’t given this any thought at all. I love to plan and go through every little detail and go over it a thousand times, I like researching and looking things up ridiculously early in advance. And I just thought that at least my family and closest friends should know that by now.  Blergh.
